Today i started the morning out heading to a nearby restaurant to get some brekkie. Decided on a smoothie bowl, banana pancake, and a lombok coffee. The pancakes here are more like crepes and they’re so delicious. I could eat endless amounts. Then i decided to do the full loop of the island and see it all. When you get to one part of the island, turtle beach, you can’t actually ride the bikes because it’s just deep sand. But it’s only about a quarter of a mile so if you want you can walk your bike through it.

I am in awe on how gorgeous this island is. From the crystal clear water to the white sand beaches it’s like stepping into a movie. The lack of cars and how affordable everything makes it very easy to see how people could get stuck here for longer than intended.

Tonight the hostel was hosting a sunset cruise but the rain had different plans for us before the family dinner. The family dinners are never anything amazing but it’s at least free and saves me money for more adventures. Plus then i can always get a little snack after. I’m loving gili. I’m hoping my sunburn fully settles by tomorrow so i can do the 10 am snorkeling tour and go see the sea turtles. When I’m in places like this i really just have to sit here and think about how incredibly lucky i am to live this life. The past few years have been intense and a lot of hard work with both losses and working through my masters. I have to think about how regardless of all the madness that has existed in kife, so much good does too. And the ability to have these opportunities that a lot of people may  not has me feeling very blessed. It’s a reminder that there’s always good to find in life. It just may take some time
